The Leather Jacket.

in the past year, the (faux) leather jacket has been one of my favorite go-to pieces. so here's just a roundup of how i've styled it in the past and others as well! xx

Ballerina

(tutu skirt: delicatehijabi)

paired with a tutu skirt to add a feminine twist x

Cuts.

if you look through stores, maxi tops with slits on the side are really everywhere lately. throw a leather jacket on and you've got a real structured ensemble.

(@sanias)
(both cut tops from joyce leslie)

Casual.

the classic denim jacket look, white tee and blue jeans. you can't go wrong with it.

Body Positivity: Taking My Peace Back.

Hi people.
I’m here to talk about a very controversial topic these days in the media, THE BODY.

It’s all over the media; it’s in the tabloids. Different types of bodies, being thrown around and shamed in all sorts of music and frankly, I’m really tired of it. Body Shaming is something i cannot stand. I've seen it, Ive dealt with it. People being shamed for both being too thin, or too thick. (yes, both.)
I’d like to give a little of my word on it.
I was trying to gain weight, then lose it, and it went on, because of what people said about me. I used to be in this constant cycle of trying to fit into other people’s idea of “beauty.”  I was in a very bad state, It took me some time to get past this. (It isn’t easy.) I dealt with a lot of body/health issues over the past year, and I don't wish that upon anyone.
But,
‘I am a woman with a body. For that, I offer no explanation, shame, excuse, or apology. In a culture obsessed with it, confidence is controversial. It is courage. I’m taking my peace back.’

The moment I let go of people’s opinions on MY body is when I had come to meet so many new possibilities and moments of happiness, things which I would never have reached if I continued to hate my body. It takes some time, but it's never too late to start.
Self-hatred should not be a common thing for humanity.

Note: Don't shame thin girls to glorify thick girls. Don't shame thick girls to glorify thin girls.
Learn to gain self-love, without shaming others. Self-love is not about loving yourself while shaming other types of bodies. Don’t body shame others to glorify yourself. This should not be competition between each other. we're all in this together, people. SELF LOVE is loving YOURSELF, and that’s it. Self-love is about only you, and nobody else.
We’ve been so brainwashed into thinking that the only form of attraction & beauty is our body.
YOU ARE YOU, THE THINGS THAT YOU BELIEVE IN. YOU HAVE A MIND, AND YOU ARE A SOUL. YOU ARE MADE UP OF SO MUCH BEAUTY. YOU HAVE A UNIQUE PURPOSE. YOU ARE A MARVELOUS AND COMPLEX HUMAN BEING.
I refuse to be ashamed of my body. I want every single woman with every body type to know their value and truth.

Be proud of yourself, enjoy your life. There is no shame in adoring who you are.

*Also, for ya’ll jerks and meanies out there, heres some “new years”  goals you should set for yourself.

1.     do not make jokes about eating disorders.
2.     do not comment on the calorie or whatever content of someone’s food.
3.     do not joke about someone’s weight
4. do not body shame. don't call thin girls "twigs" or thick girls "pigs"
*your silly little comment can very much offend someone that’s suffering or trigger a problem, so please, stop.

Travels, Europe.

Hellooooo everyone! I haven't been on my blogging game at all, I sincerely apologize. So, if you've seen my instagram I did a short trip around Europe with some great people. Most of the time, I did wear comfy clothing as we did a ton of walking. SO, I have a proper blogpost in the works but as of right now, here's just a filler + details about my trip + small ootd :)

Budapest

white top: zara // boyfriend jeans: h&m // shoes: h&m // scarf: uniquehijabs

My 1st day in Europe was spent in Budapest, Hungary. That view though, like I couldn't even believe it was real. Picture doesn't even do it justice. The spot was Fisherman's Bastion, so if you ever find yourself in Budapest, I say definitely take a visit!

Vienna
pants : zara // scarf: forever 21 // black maxi vest: cotton on

If you're going to a palace in Vienna, why not dress all fancy? but, please wear comfortable shoes, if you decide to ever go on a palace tour, because I didn't and my feet are still recovering. (sorry, feet.)

Here's just some random photos I took in a famous Rose Garden in Vienna, I have never seen so many roses in my life. I take it upon myself to now start my very own rose garden, don't doubt me, cause its gonna happen.

Bratlislava

dressed pretty damn basic that day, but it's all good. This little city in Slovakia, was on our way to Prague. I didn't take much pictures of my outfits etc in Prague, I wanted to spend time with everyone and actually enjoy the moments, instead of constantly worrying about the perfect picture.

Soooo that wraps up my little post. I have a proper leather lookbook post in the works so stay tuned for that! Until next time, folks. xo.
